From a classically trained background, composer and software developer Andrew Colella creates novel interfaces for interactivity in music and games. While striving to revolutionize the creation of music through computing and gaming environments, he is an accomplished composer, computer musician and plays viola with Grammy Nominated artist Janelle Monae. Notable performances include the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony, the White House, Glastonbury 2011, Rock in Rio, and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Andrew’s music has also been performed around the world in Tokyo, Pavia (Italy), NYC, San Diego, Kansas City, Athens and Atlanta. He is currently teaching Computer Music Composition at Emory University.
Recently Andrew and co-developer Chris Ehsaei appeared on CNN to demo their recent game, ShotgunShowdown, a handheld augmented reality app for Android. (right)
