From a classically trained background, composer and software developer Andrew Colella creates novel interfaces for interactivity in music and games. While striving to revolutionize the creation of music through computing and gaming environments, he is an accomplished concert violist, private music instructor and serves as principal violist of the Georgia Tech Symphony. Andrew’s undergraduate composition degree at the Eastman School of Music led to performances of his work in Tokyo, Pavia (Italy), NYC, San Diego, Kansas City, Athens and Atlanta. He has since begun a graduate degree studying with Jason Freeman at the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology and is completing his final semester.
Recently Andrew and co-developer Chris Ehsaei appeared on CNN to demo their recent game, ShotgunShowdown, a handheld augmented reality app for Android. His current projects include LOLC (Laptop Orchestra live Collaboration), 3D MashOut for kinect, game remix3r, and various Atari hacks.
